Aspect, a global provider of customer contact and Microsoft platform solutions, today announced that it has signed a partnership agreement with eircom to expand its presence in the Irish contact centre market.

eircom today announced that it has successfully provided a future-proofed network infrastructure to the Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT) and Telecommunications Software and Systems Group their research and development centre. The investment, exceeding a quarter of a million euro was made to efficiently service the growing population of more than 12,000 students, researchers and staff at the college, both now and into the future.

eircom today announced that it will provide a next generation communications platform to the National University of Ireland Galway, [NUI Galway]. This is a five year strategic project with an investment in excess of €1m. eircom will design, deliver and support a complete Unified Communications and Network Infrastructure platform for 3,000 users at NUI Galway, using Avaya and Cisco Systems.

The eGovernment Awards in association with eircom were presented by The Tanaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Eamonn Gilmore at a ceremony in Dublin Castle.  The overall winner was the Criminal Justice Interoperability Programme (CJIP) jointly developed by the Courts Service and An Garda Síochána.
